Program Description:

The Skate Canada CANPOWERSkate program is for those who are aspiring to be or currently play hockey or ringette and wish to improve the quality of their skating. Taught by Skate Canada certified CANPower instructors. Students must be at minimum Stage 3 and up for entry to program. Full equipment required.

Program Description:

To be eligible for our STAR1 Program the skater must be assessed by one of our professional coaches.  Upon their recommendation, the skater may then register for this session. Please email the Club to arrange for an assessment.

 Skaters will be introduced to jumps, spins, edges, footwork, dances and skills.  We try to maintain small classes to allow for individual attention.  STAR 1 includes flexibility, training, stretching, body awareness and conditioning exercises.  Precise muscle area workouts are designed to enhance personal development in figure skating.

Monday sessions are for once weekly skating.  Times are 3:45-4:15 Off Ice with Jr group; 5:00-6:00 ON Ice includes 15 minute enrichment with Jr group.

CANSkate is Skate Canada’s flagship learn-to-skate program, designed for beginners of all ages. When you sign up for CANSkate you will be in a program that focuses on fun,
participation and basic skill development.
Celebrating Skate Canada’s CANSkate program, GRANDVIEW SKATING CLUB offers expert coaching, more hands on instruction with higher ratio of program assistants to skaters.Skaters will earn badges and other incentives as they learn fundamental skating skills such as balance, control and agility that pertain to hockey, ringette, speed skating and figure skating.
The result is a dynamic program that prepares all skaters for virtually every ice sport.

Wednesday/Saturday sessions are a package. Wednesday On Ice from 4:00pm to 4:45pm and Zoom Off Ice from 5:30 to 6:00pm. Saturday sessions are Zoom Off Ice from 10:00 am to 10:30 am and On Ice from 11:00 am to 11:45 am.

Program Description:

Before registering for Star 2 you must complete and Pass STAR 1 program and have approval from a coach to move into Star 2 program.

Freeskate is the focus of this group session and will work on jumps, spins and other skating elements. This registration fee includes both ice fees and coaching. There is no prorating. 

It is strongly recommended that skaters register for a minimum of two Freeskate Group sessions.   

Other recommended sessions: 

- Patterns/Edges and Elements:  This must be booked separately as both Ice Time and a Lesson.  

- Off Ice conditioning are "dry land" classes that works on strength, flexibility and skating technique.

Program Description:

Group Enrichment is a group lesson where skaters work on speed and skills in stroking, and different spin types and styles in Spin Patch. The cost of Group Enrichment INCLUDES ice time and group coaching.
