Adult Skaters

Adult skaters are welcome on all Grandview sessions!

GSC defines adults as anyone age 23 and above. However, according to the Vancouver Parks Board ice allocation guidelines, adults can comprise of a maximum 20% of total participants on each prime time session so the number of spaces for adult participants may be limited.

Learn to Skate - If you are looking to learn to skate, or improve basic skills, register for CanSkate on your preferred day (or days). Your skating level will be assessed on your first class, and you will be grouped with a similar skill level. If possible, adults will be grouped together but please note that you will be sharing the ice with skaters of all ages.

Hockey Skills - If you are a competent skater (backwards / forwards/ full hockey stop) and want to improve your skills for Hockey or Ringette, register for PowerSkateConsider that you can improve basic skating skills in the CanSkate class.

Figure Skating - If you are a competent skater, but would like to learn or grow your skills in Figure Skating, request an assessment from our Coaching Director, by emailing gsc.coachingdirector@gmail.com. Once you have submitted videos for consideration or met with one of our  coaches for an in person assessment, we can advise you which level of instruction will best meet your learning needs. STAR 1 is an introductory figure skating class, STAR 2- 4 is for beginner to intermediate skaters, and STAR 5 + is for advanced level skaters.

All STAR skaters MUST do both on-ice and off-ice classes, and skate at least twice a week. We are able to offer some flexibility to our class bundles for adult skaters.

Please note that if our system detects more than 30 minutes of inactivity in your browser, your registration spots will no longer be reserved and you will need to begin again.
