Program Description: 

The Skate Canada PowerSkate program is for those who are aspiring to be or currently playing hockey or ringette and wish to improve the quality of their skating. Taught by Skate Canada certified CANPower instructors, our experienced Grandview coaches will facilitate the program to build on balance, control and agility which are foundational hockey skills.  

Before you register, please note:

  • Power Skating U10:
    • Skaters must be able to skate forwards with speed, skate backwards, and complete a full hockey stop.
  • Power Skating 10 & Over:
      • Priority will be given to skaters 10yrs and over
      • Skaters under the age of 10yrs: program is by invitation only and skater MUST be assessed by our coaches prior to registering
  • In person assessment, by appointment only, during the first half of the season.  If request is in the later half of a season, please submit a 1 minute video to grandviewsk8club@gmail.com
  • Full Hockey gear is a requirement, sticks will be used but NO passing or hitting pucks are allowed
  • The facility and the club do not provide equipment for rental, skaters must bring their own.
  • Skaters must bring their own labeled water bottle.
  • NO Classes Tuesday March 4 & Thursday, March 6
Some notes about fees:
  • Annual Skate Canada fee of $58.65 will be applied at checkout for all new skaters.   
  • Fees MUST be paid before skaters step on the ice.
